Pietroasele is a commune located in Buzău County within the Muntenia region of Romania. Its name translates to "the rockies." The administrative area of the commune is composed of six distinct villages: Câlțești, Clondiru de Sus, Dara, Pietroasa Mică, Pietroasele, and Șarânga.
The region is primarily known for its vineyards. Historically, the commune gained significant recognition following the discovery of the Pietroasa Treasure in 1837. This archaeological find consisted of several pieces of gold and precious stones, a discovery that was later documented in a book by Romanian historian Alexandru Odobescu.
