Mărașu is a commune situated in Brăila County within the Muntenia region of Romania. The administrative area is composed of five distinct villages: Băndoiu, Măgureni, Mărașu, Plopi, and Țăcău.
Historically, the commune also included the village of Nedelcu, which is currently depopulated. The settlement serves as a rural administrative unit within the local county structure.
