Hănești is a commune located in Botoșani County within the Western Moldavia region of Romania. It covers a total area of 6,052 hectares and has a population of 2,844 people.
The commune is composed of five distinct villages: Borolea, Hănești, Moara Jorii, Sărata-Basarab, and Slobozia Hănești. The local infrastructure includes three primary schools and five secondary schools.
