Spermezeu is a commune located in Bistrița-Năsăud County within the Transylvania region of Romania. It serves as an administrative division composed of eight distinct villages: Dobricel (Kisdebrek), Dumbrăvița (Dögmező), Hălmăsău (Helmesaljavölgy), Lunca Borlesei, Păltineasa (Jávorvölgy), Sita (Szita), Spermezeu, and Șesuri Spermezeu-Vale (Síktelep).
The administrative structure of the commune has evolved over time; specifically, the villages of Dobricel and Dumbrăvița were previously part of the Căianu Mic Commune until 2004.
