Roșiorii de Vede is a city located in Teleorman County within the Muntenia region of Romania. It is recognized as one of the oldest cities in the country, with historical records dating back to the late 14th century.
The city was first mentioned in a document from 1385. According to historical accounts, two German pilgrims returning from Jerusalem stopped in the town for several days during their journey, referring to the location as Russenart.
