Paleu is a commune situated in the Crișana region of Bihor County, Romania. It serves as an administrative division composed of three distinct villages: Paleu, Săldăbagiu de Munte (also known as Hegyközszáldobágy), and Uileacu de Munte (also known as Hegyközújlak).
The commune was established in 2003 when the three villages were split off from the neighboring Cetariu Commune. It remains a rural locality within the county's geographical boundaries.
