Pârjol is a commune located in Bacău County within the Western Moldavia region of Romania. The administrative area is composed of nine distinct villages: Băhnășeni, Bărnești, Băsăști, Câmpeni, Hăineala, Hemieni, Pârjol, Pustiana, and Tărâța.
According to the 2011 census, the commune had a population of 5,404 inhabitants, of which 94.2% identified as Romanian and 3.53% as Hungarian. Religious demographics recorded in the 2002 census indicate that 64.2% of the population were Romanian Orthodox, 35% were Roman Catholic, and 0.8% were Old Calendar Orthodox.
