Campulung

Romania

Câmpulung is a city located in Argeș County within the Muntenia region of Romania. It is situated among the outlying hills of the Southern Carpathians at the head of a long, well-wooded glen traversed by the river Târgului, which serves as a tributary of the river Argeș.

The city's historical presence is documented on the Fra Mauro map from 1450, where it was identified as Campo longo. It remains a notable geographical point in the region defined by its surrounding hilly terrain and proximity to the Târgului river valley.
