Șofronea is a commune located in Arad County, Romania. Situated within the Arad Plateau, the area covers a total of 3,490 hectares (approximately 13.5 square miles). It is positioned roughly 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the county capital city of Arad.
The commune is composed of two distinct villages: Șofronea and Sânpaul (also known as Szentpál).
