Jidvei is a commune situated in Alba County within the Transylvanian Plateau region of northwestern Romania. It is located along the banks of the Târnava river and has a history of human habitation that predates its first official documentation in 1309.
The village features notable historical architecture, most significantly its church. Originally constructed in the Gothic style, the building underwent modifications in 1707 to adopt a baroque style. Additionally, remnants of a 15th-century fortification wall that once surrounded the church still exist today, specifically the gate tower.
