Avram Iancu

Avram Iancu was a Transylvanian Romanian lawyer who became a prominent figure during the Austrian Empire Revolutions of 1848–1849. He played a significant role in the local chapter of these uprisings, specifically focusing his activities within the Apuseni Mountains and the Țara Moților region.

Iancu is notably recognized for rallying peasants to his cause while maintaining allegiance to the Habsburg monarchy. Due to his leadership and influence in these regions, he earned the historical moniker Crăișorul Munților.
