Setúbal, officially known as the City of Setúbal, is a city and municipality located in Portugal. Situated within the Lisbon metropolitan area, it is positioned approximately 50 kilometres from downtown Lisbon by road.
The municipality covers an area of 230.33 km2 (88.9 sq mi) and had a population of 118,166 in 2014. In the year 2001, the city itself recorded a population of 89,303 inhabitants.
