Trofa is a city and municipality located in the northern region of the Porto metropolitan area in Portugal. It is situated approximately 18 kilometres (11 miles) from the city of Porto.
The municipality covers an area of 72.02 square kilometres (27.81 mi2) and had a population of 38,548 as of 2021. The city centre is formed by the parish of Bougado, which accounted for 21,374 inhabitants in 2021. Another significant locality within the municipality is Coronado.
