Azambuja, officially known as the Town of Azambuja, is a municipality located in the Portuguese district of Lisbon. It is situated within the historical region of Ribatejo and covers a total area of 262.66 km2.
The population of the municipality was recorded at 21,814 in 2011. While it was previously part of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, Azambuja left that designation in 2004 to join the NUTS III statistical subregion of Lezíria do Tejo.
