Figueira da Foz

Figueira da Foz, officially known as the City of Figueira da Foz and often referred to simply as Figueira, is a city and municipality located in the Coimbra District of Portugal. Situated at the mouth of the Mondego River, it sits approximately 40 km (25 mi) west of Coimbra along the Atlantic coast of the Iberian Peninsula.

The municipality covers an area of 379.05 km2 (146.35 sq mi) and had a population of 62,125 as of 2011, with the city proper housing 46,600 residents. It is characterized by its position sheltered by hills and serves as the second largest city in the Coimbra District.
