Freixo de Espada à Cinta is a municipality located in the northeastern region of Portugal. Situated along the Douro River Valley near the Spanish border, a small portion of its territory also extends into the Tierra de Miranda.
The municipality covers an area of 244.14 km2 and had a recorded population of 3,780 in 2011. While it is officially known as the Town of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, it is sometimes erroneously referred to as Freixo de Espada Cinta.
