Braga is a city and municipality located in northwestern Portugal. It serves as the capital of the Braga District and the historical and cultural Minho Province.
The municipality has a resident population of 201,583, making it the seventh largest municipality in Portugal by population. Its total area covers 183.40 km2, while its agglomerated urban area extends to the Cávado River and ranks as the third most populated urban area in the country, following the Lisbon and Porto Metropolitan Areas.
