Cuba, officially known as the Republic of Cuba, is an island country located in the Caribbean. It consists of a main island along with 4,195 other islands, islets, and cays. Geographically, it is situated at the convergence of the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea.
The nation is positioned east of the Yucatán Peninsula, south of Florida and the Bahamas, west of Hispaniola, and north of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Cuba is the largest country in the Caribbean by land area and is considered part of Latin America culturally. Havana serves as the capital and largest city.
With a population of approximately 10 million inhabitants, Cuba is the third-most populous country in the Caribbean, following Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
