Ovar is a city and municipality located in the Aveiro District within the Baixo Vouga Subregion of Portugal. The municipality covers an area of 147.70 km2 and, as of the 2011 census, had a population of 55,398 residents.
The administrative boundaries of the municipality include two cities: Ovar and Esmoriz. In 2006, there were 42,582 eligible voters recorded in the region.
