Ramallah is a city located in the central West Bank region of Palestine. It is situated on the Judaean Mountains at an average elevation of 872 meters (2,861 ft) above sea level. The city lies approximately 10 km north of Jerusalem and is adjacent to al-Bireh.
The city serves as the administrative capital of Palestine. Additionally, it functions as the capital of the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate.
