Miquelon is a commune and the larger but less populated municipality within the French overseas collectivity of Saint Pierre and Miquelon. It is situated in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, approximately 22 km (14 mi) south of Newfoundland.
The commune consists of three islands: Miquelon, Langlade, and Le Cap, which are connected by narrow tombolos. The settlement of Miquelon, located on the northern tip of the island, serves as the communal seat and houses the entire permanent population of 596 residents. The area is served by Miquelon Airport, which provides flights to the nearby Saint-Pierre Airport.
