Wolin is an island located in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Poland. Administratively, it belongs to the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The island covers an area of 265 km² (102 sq mi), with its highest point being Mount Grzywacz at 116 meters above sea level.
The island is geographically separated from the mainland by the Strait of Dziwna and from the island of Usedom (Uznam) by the Strait of Świna. The population of the area is approximately 30,000 inhabitants. While the towns of Międzyzdroje and Wolin are situated in the eastern part of the island, the eastern suburbs of the city of Świnoujście extend onto its territory.
