Sandomierz is a historic town located in south-eastern Poland within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. It serves as the capital of Sandomierz County and is situated in the Sandomierz Basin on the Vistula River, near its confluence with the San River.
The town has a population of 23,863 inhabitants. It is primarily recognized for its preserved Old Town, which serves as a major cultural and tourist attraction. In 2017, the President of Poland officially declared this area a National Monument of Poland.
