Opatów is a town situated in southeastern Poland within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. It is located in Opatów County and sits among the hills of the Lesser Polish Upland region. Historically, the area was part of the greater region known as Lesser Poland.
The geography of the town is defined by the Opatówka river, which divides it into two distinct parts. As of 2012, the population of Opatów was recorded at 6,658 residents.
