Mikołów is a city located in the Silesia region of southern Poland. It is situated within the Silesian Highlands along the Jamna stream, which serves as a tributary of the Kłodnica River and eventually flows into the Oder.
The city functions as an outer town of the Metropolis GZM, a metropolitan area with a population exceeding 2 million people. It is also part of the larger Katowice-Ostrava metropolitan area, which has a total population of approximately 5,294,000. As of 2019, the population of Mikołów was recorded at 40,898.
