Częstochowa is a city located in southern Poland on the Warta river. With a population of 214,342 inhabitants, it ranks as the thirteenth-largest city in the country and serves as the primary economic, cultural, and administrative hub for the northern region of the Silesian Voivodeship.
While currently situated within the Silesian Voivodeship, Częstochowa is historically considered part of Lesser Poland. Prior to the 1795 Partition of Poland, the city belonged to the Kraków Voivodeship and is geographically positioned in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.
