Cieszyn is a border town located in southern Poland on the east bank of the Olza River. It serves as the administrative seat of Cieszyn County within the Silesian Voivodeship and has a population of approximately 32,000 inhabitants.
The town lies directly opposite Český Těšín in the Czech Republic. Both locations are situated within the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia and formerly functioned as a single town that served as the capital of the Duchy of Cieszyn.
