Będzin is a city located in the Dąbrowa Basin within the Silesian Highlands of southern Poland. It is situated along the Czarna Przemsza River and is currently part of the Silesian Voivodeship.

Historically, Będzin belongs to Lesser Poland and is recognized as one of the oldest towns in that region. The city is notably regarded as the capital of the industrial Dąbrowa Basin.
