Gdynia is a seaport located on the Baltic Sea coast in northern Poland. It serves as the second-largest city in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, following Gdańsk, and holds the distinction of being the largest city in Poland that is not a voivodeship capital.
With a population of approximately 239,000, Gdynia is the 12th-largest city in the country. It is an integral part of the Tricity (Trójmiasto) metropolitan area, a conurbation that includes the spa town of Sopot, the city of Gdańsk, and various surrounding suburban communities, housing a total population of around one million inhabitants.
