Baranów Sandomierski is a town located in southern Poland within the Subcarpathian Voivodeship and Tarnobrzeg County. Situated along the Vistula River, it serves as a point on voivodeship road nr. 985, which connects the cities of Tarnobrzeg and Mielec. As of December 2021, the town had a population of 1,420 inhabitants.
Historically, the town was part of the province of Lesser Poland and remained within the Sandomierz Voivodeship for centuries. The name Baranów Sandomierski is derived from either the historical practice of sheep husbandry in the region or from the Baranowski family, who were former owners of the town.
