Głogówek is a small historic town located in southern Poland within the Opole Voivodeship of the greater Silesian region. It is situated on the Osobloga River, approximately 35 kilometres from the voivodeship capital of Opole and about 10 kilometres from the Czech border.
The name of the city is derived from the Polish word "głóg," which means hawthorn, a plant that was abundant in the area at the time of the town's founding. The settlement is notably recognized for its preserved medieval core, which includes a market square and numerous architectural monuments.
