Zakliczyn is a town located in Tarnów County within the Lesser Poland Voivodeship of Poland. It sits on the right bank of the Dunajec river and is situated among wooded hills that reach elevations between 300 and 500 metres above sea level.
The town features a spacious market square measuring 100 by 170 metres, which ranks as one of the largest in the province. It also houses a town hall. Originally known as Opatkowice, the settlement was renamed Zakliczyn in 1558 to honor the village of Zakliczyn in Myślenice County, the ancient seat of the Jordan family.
