Wadowice is a town located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland. It is situated on the Skawa river at the confluence of the Vistula, positioned in the eastern part of the Silesian Foothills approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Kraków.
As of 2022, the town has a population of 17,455 inhabitants. Wadowice is notably recognized as the birthplace of Karol Wojtyła, who later became Pope John Paul II, and Godwin von Brumowski, who was Austria-Hungary’s best flying ace with at least 35 credited aerial victories.
