Skawina is a town located in southern Poland within the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is situated on the Skawinka river and lies in close proximity to the city of Kraków. The name of the town likely originates from the nearby Skawinka river.
As of 2008, the town had a population of 27,328 inhabitants and covers an area of 20.50 km2. A notable historical feature of the town is a Renaissance palace built in the mid-16th century by Paweł Korytko.
