Nowy Targ is a town situated in southern Poland within the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Geographically, it is positioned in the Orava-Nowy Targ Basin at the base of the Gorce Mountains, specifically located at the confluence of the Czarny Dunajec and Biały Dunajec rivers.
The town serves as an important administrative center, acting as the seat for both the Nowy Targ County and the rural Gmina Nowy Targ. Additionally, it is designated as the seat of the Tatra Euroregion.
