Chełmek is a town located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland. As of December 2021, the municipality had a population of 8,810 inhabitants.
The town was historically recognized for its industrial significance, specifically regarding the Chełmek Shoe Factory. Until 1947, this facility operated as part of the Bata Shoes company.
