Świdnik is a town located in southeastern Poland within the Lublin Voivodeship. Situated approximately 10 kilometres southeast of the city of Lublin, it serves as the capital of Świdnik County and belongs to the historic province of Lesser Poland.
The settlement was first mentioned in historical records in 1392. It remained a village until the end of the 19th century, at which point it began to develop into a spa destination due to its specific climate and geographical location. As of 2012, the town had a population of 40,186 inhabitants.
