Galewice is a village located in central Poland within the Łódź Voivodeship. It serves as the seat of the administrative district of Gmina Galewice and is situated approximately 10 km (6 mi) north-east of Wieruszów and 97 km (60 mi) south-west of the regional capital, Łódź.
The village was established in the 15th century and was first officially recorded in the Judicial Chronicles in 1458. While the exact origin of its name is ambiguous, it is believed to derive either from the word Gal, meaning "to serve," or from the Galewski family, who were the original owners of the village.
