Wałbrzych is a city located in southwestern Poland within the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. It serves as the seat of Wałbrzych County and holds the status of a municipality. The city is situated approximately 70 kilometres southwest of the voivodeship capital, Wrocław, and lies about 30 kilometres from the Czech border.
The administrative borders of Wałbrzych encompass an area of 85 km2 with a population of 110,000 inhabitants. It ranks as the second-largest city in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the 33rd largest city in Poland.
