Gahkuch is the capital city of the Ghizer District, located in Pakistan-administered Gilgit-Baltistan within the disputed Kashmir region. It is situated approximately 72 kilometers northwest of Gilgit, which serves as the regional capital.
The city is characterized by its mountainous surroundings and its position along the route to Ishkoman. According to the 1998 Pakistani census, Gahkuch had a recorded population of 10,142 residents.
