Pano Aqil

Pakistan

Pano Aqil is a tehsil located in the Sukkur District of the Sindh province in Pakistan. Situated approximately 40 kilometres north of the city of Sukkur along the National Highway N-5, it serves as a local commercial center for surrounding rural settlements and consists of 12 union councils.

The region features an arid to semi-arid climate characterized by very hot summers and mild winters. Its landscape is largely agricultural, supported by canal irrigation from the Indus River system, which facilitates the production of major crops such as wheat, rice, and sugarcane.

Administratively, the civilian town falls under the jurisdiction of Sukkur District, while the Pano Aqil Cantonment is governed separately by military authorities. The area is connected to other parts of upper Sindh via established road and rail networks.
