Rawalpindi, colloquially known as Pindi, is a major city located in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. It is situated along the Soan River in north-western Punjab and serves as the third-largest city in its province and the fourth-most populous city in the country.

The city is positioned adjacent to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Due to their close proximity, the two urban centers are jointly referred to as the "twin cities."
