Minchinabad is a city located in the Bahawalnagar District of the Punjab province in Pakistan. It serves as the capital of the Minchinabad Tehsil.
The city underwent a period of rapid development during the late 1860s and 1870s. It was named in honor of Colonel Charles Cherry Minchin (1829-1899), who served as the British Political Agent overseeing the Bahawalpur Princely State from 1866 to 1876.
