Jhelum

Pakistan

Jhelum is a city located in northern Punjab, Pakistan. It is situated on the western bank of the Jhelum River and serves as the capital of the Jhelum District.

The city is known by the nicknames "City of Soldiers" or "Land of Martyrs and Warriors." These titles stem from the historical contribution of many local soldiers who served in the British Indian Army and, subsequently, the Pakistan Armed Forces. This legacy is attributed to the characterization of Punjabi tribes as a "martial race."
