Bannu, also known as Bani Gul or Bani, is a city situated on the Kurram River in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It serves as the capital of the Bannu Division.
The local population primarily consists of members of the Banuchi tribe who speak Banuchi (Baniswola), a dialect of Pashto that shares similarities with the Waziristani dialect. Regardless of their specific tribal affiliations, residents are commonly referred to by the names Banusi, Banuchi, or Banisi.
