Turbat is a city located in the southern region of the Balochistan province in Pakistan. It serves as the administrative center of the Kech District and holds the distinction of being the largest city in the southern part of the province. By population, it ranks as the 35th largest city in the country and the second-largest in Balochistan, following Quetta.
The city is situated on the left bank of the Kech River and was historically recognized as the capital of the princely state of Makran during the era of British India. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 180 kilometres (110 mi) northeast of the Gwadar Port.
