Kohlu is the capital city of the Kohlu District, located within the Balochistan province of Pakistan.
The area has a historical administrative record dating back to the late 19th century. In May 1892, a sub-tahsil was established at Kohlu, with its income categorized as part of the Zhob Revenues; however, this sub-tahsil was subsequently abolished in 1895.
