Datu Piang

Philippines

Datu Piang refers to Piang Tan, a prominent Maguindanaon-Chinese ruler who was historically recognized as one of the most powerful leaders in Maguindanao. He is frequently honored with the title "Grand Old Man of Cotabato."

His period of significant influence spanned from the conclusion of Spanish rule until the arrival of American forces in late 1899. While the name is associated with his leadership in the region, it serves as a historical reference to his political authority and status within the province.
