Pagadian, officially known as the City of Pagadian, is a component city located in the Philippines. It serves as the capital of the province of Zamboanga del Sur and functions as the regional center of the Zamboanga Peninsula. As of the 2024 census, the city has a population of 206,483 people.
The city is currently the second-largest in its region, following the independent city of Zamboanga. Under Proclamation No. 1247 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on November 8, 2021, Pagadian is scheduled to be converted into a highly urbanized city, pending ratification in a plebiscite.
