Almería is a city and municipality located in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southeastern Iberia, Spain. It serves as the capital of the province of Almería and is situated along the coastline of the Gulf of Almería, which is a large inlet of the Mediterranean Sea.
The municipality extends primarily between the eastern fringes of the Sierra de Gádor and the Andarax riverbed. As of recent data, the city has a population of 201,946 residents.
